[Afropop] Meiway (born Frederic Desire Ehui in 1962) is a legend of Cote D'Ivoirian music. The creator of his own music genre, Zoblazo, Meiway has amassed hit after hit for more than three decades. His music is modern and highly danceable, and it draws on a variety of traditional styles from this ethnically diverse country. His trademark white handkerchief dance, also a tradition, is well known to his fans, and that was clearly evident when he took the stage on the closing night of the 2025 Nuits D'Afrique festival
